Chichicastenango

Chichicastenango is probably one of the most touristy places, however, if you venture into the main part of the city where the largest collection of vendors are located under blue and white awnings then you get to see where the locals buy things. I'll admit I was tempted to buy a lot of things because they are so beautiful here, however, it doesn't take long to notice that a lot of these things aren't made by hand, thus I didn't buy a lot here. Here are the photos of the various people and places in the market. The walkways are very narrow so be prepared to be shoved around or such. Most streets are visable through the temporary store fronts, however, one section was so full of temporary stores that the whole center of town was lost, only to be discovered when I stumbled into a fountain along one of the walkways. Then I noticed that I was in the middle of a large park. I did buy some things here such as clothes and a traveling hammock. I'd say visit if you have a chance.
