The other day, Sunday, while we were all in the hotel we heard fireworks going off in the street. Thus everyone ran to the roof to see what was going on and we discovered a large procession of people caring Saint Mary. The festival was to celebrate the immaculate conception. It was an interesting thing to watch as it progressed for hours throughout the city. Each family group carried the Virgin Mary through their area and set off fireworks just before they handed her off to the next family group. Here are some photos.
